Roll20 & Heroclix: Adding equipment to tokens field.

Roll20 & Heroclix: Adding equipment to tokens field.

Hello! Tired of forgetting who has what equipped while playing on R20?? Me too, good news is there is a work around to customize the token set for R20 games.  I will be going over the tutorial on how to add equipment and sideline elements to the token selection field. I will be using images from HCUnits but you can use which ever works best for you. This should be done by the owner or GM of R20 game you are playing. Once done, all other players will need to refresh the VTT or log out and back in for the markers to work. Before getting started I recommend downloading all the images for the items, objects, possessors, pilots, and avatars you plan on using in your games. Make sure to save them to a place you remember!

  1. From the home screen select the Tools drop down and select "Token Marker Library"
  2. That will open a new page where you will select "+New Set". You will then be prompted with a window to name the set.
  3. Once named, create set and a new page will open where you can add the images.
  4. In the top right select "Add Images", here you can drag and drop or select the photos from the file you have saved.

  5. Upload as many or as little and what is pertinent to the grouping you decided on.
  6. Select "Upload" - this may take some time depending on the number of images.
  7. Almost done! Once that is finished you now navigate to the game you want to add those tokens to.
  8. Select the game you want to add them to. On the bottom right there is a box labeled  "Token Marker Set"
  9. Select the plus sign and search for the set you just created. Now you're done! You can now add and remove any other token sets you need or don't.
  10. When you are in game you can see the tokens from the center drop down.

PRO TIPS:

  • Use the file name system to organize based on set or age. This will help with later updates and organization.
  • Upload your own photos! Some of the images are too small to recognize, so it may be worth sourcing something else or making your own.
  • Also a cool way to make custom action tokens!

    Thanks For Reading!
